One of 2013’s hottest wedding trends has been the addition of an ear-marked ‘lounge’ space to the reception floor plan.
A perfect way to add a dash of personal flair or elaborate on a wedding theme, the lounge creates a wonderful spot to sip a cocktail and catch up with guests away from the energy of the dance floor. Pictured above, a fresh and inspired lounge area in natural colors. Sarah and Mark’s color scheme of navy and white theme permeated the event from the sail-cloth tent to the neatly-tied flip-flops, a welcome reward for weary wedding-going feet!
For Elizabeth and Jeremiah, we created a lounge with a more open airy feel, with soft colors and candles, making a seamless bridge between the rolling, landscaped grounds and the reception tent. We love this trend as much as our brides and grooms. It’s a beautiful and highly personal way to create a little oasis in the midst of the reception hustle and bustle. Ask Janet about other fun ways to customize this space…a little cocktail bar, a photo booth, a cigar station for the gents. You dream it up and we make it happen!
Southern Vermont’s jewel, the Robert Todd Lincoln estate, is located in the scenic village of Manchester. ‘Hildene,’ as it is called, is situated on a west-ward facing promontory overlooking the Battenkill Valley, with broad sweeping views of the Taconic range to the East. The atmosphere is quaint and intimate. It’s a magical place with wonderful, private photography nooks, incredible event infrastructure with majestic views to create a truly memorable ceremony, rehearsal or reception.
Imagine farm tables, lush peonies and fresh, mountain air. Imagine photographs on the steps of the Lincoln family home. There is at once something so affirming about the venue and yet it’s backdrop creates weddings as if out of a dream.
Even though a registered, active historic site, the property is so well-versed in wedding culture that they have a dedicated florist and award-winning caterer who are committed to bringing the very best of Vermont to your reception table. Your menu will be influenced by the produce and products of local farmers and the richness of the season.
It’s simply hard to imagine a ‘local’ wedding more spectacular or a venue that better captures the essence of Vermont. It’s one of our favorites!
